Customized Tools for Condition Monitoring Solutions
For reaching a maximum productivity, industrial machines and plants need to show a high level of availability. Downtimes - especially unplanned downtimes- need to be prevented. Changes, due to wear and tear or other causes, usually result in mechanical vibrations.
By means of a Condition Monitoring system, the mechanical components can be monitored continuously and possible sources of errors and defects can be detected early in the process.
The ibaInSpectra Concept
With ibaInSpectra, we meet a graduated solution at your hands for acquiring, displaying and analyzing mechanical vibrations in machines and plants.
Based on different platforms and with acquisition rates of up to 100 kHz, ibaInSpectra can be optimally scaled to the individual needs in three stages.
The compact solution for monitoring single components, with technological applications, e.g. as vibration monitor with formation of characteristic values.
The powerful solution for groups of machines, complex spectrum analysis and special applications; an autonomous solution, but nevertheless integrated in the data acquisition of the whole plant.
The production-wide and cross-process solution with visualization and the whole ibaPDA-V6 connectivity. ibaInSpectra Expert is the first software module in a whole row of software modules for the "Factory" version.
Open and Versatile
In contrast to many other Condition Monitoring systems, ibaInSpectra is not designed for a single manufacturer or limited to single machines. It uses the broad connectivity of ibaPDA-V6 and the iba hardware. Thus, it is tailor-made for the use in heterogeneous automation structures that are characterized by numerous different trades and types of controllers.
Due to the seamless integration into ibaPDA-V6, vibration measurement data as well as other relevant machine, process, material and quality data can be acquired centrally and set into relation to each other.
Hence, not only the pure vibration analysis for a single machine can be made, but also the possible effects of the vibrations on process stability and product quality can be detected.
Real Time Analysis
Many Condition Monitoring systems are designed for longterm trends and often analyze the vibration sensors over short terms in intervals of hours and days, whereas with ibaInSpectra, sensors can be monitored in a time synchronous and continuous manner.
The current frequency analyses can be displayed in real time. Hence, negative trends as well as significant correlations of the data can be detected early in the process.
Critical conditions or exceeded limit values can be alerted immediately, which contributes significantly to protecting man and machine.
Flexible Configuration for Experts
The ibaInSpectra Expert module is configured in the ibaPDA-V6 I/O manager. Due to the numerous possibilities of configuration for the frequency band analysis, it offers especially to vibration experts a flexible basis for realizing their tasks.
For every signal that is of interest, an own ibaInSpectra module should be configured.
The following parameters are determined as result of the analysis for every frequency band:
- Peak frequency
For RMS and peak, one can additionally define two limit values (alert, alarm). Besides the values from the frequency domain, further values like minimum, maximum, average value, RMS or Crest factor are determined in the time domain of the signal.
The calculation bases for the analysis can be adapted individually by the user on many levels and stored as profiles. Besides the sensor type and the spectrum type, FFT calculation parameters like the number of samples, window type and overlap percentage can be set.
There are different methods for determining the average value as well as the the possibility of Detrending for compensating a slow drift of the measured value.
Profiles that have been defined once, can be stored and then used several times.
Alert and Alarm
When configuring the al ert and alarm limit values, Operation and Visualization ibaInSpectra Expert automatically supplies digital signals ibaInSpectra modules have an own branch in the ibaPDA-V6 which are activated as soon as the limit values are exceeded.
Via the output interfaces of ibaPDA-V6, these signals can be made available to other systems for alerting or interventions in the process control.
Operation and Visualization
ibaInSpectra modules have an own branch in the ibaPDA-V6 signal tree. For the display, only an FFT view needs to be opened and the ibaInSpectra module has to be dragged in by means of Drag & Drop.
The standard views waterfall, frequency band, current value tables and time domaine trend of the input signal are available immediately. They can be displayed and hidden as requested. By means of markers that can be freely defined, any desired frequency and its Harmonics can be followed in the display (order tracking).
This can be really of interest in case of dynamic operating states of a plant.
Consistency up to the Offline Analysis
In ibaAnalyzer, all modules are available in the signal tree and the determined band parameters can be dragged via Drag & Drop into the trend view or used for other calculations.
